ADF petitions Buhari, CJN over imbalance in appointment



The Alaigbo Development Foundation, ADF, has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed over what it described as the lopsidedness in the on-going appointment of justices of the Court of Appeal.

Appeal Court BuildingThe group alleged that the appointment was being manipulated to deliberately deny the South-East its quota and appropriate number of Justices in the Court of Appeal, based on the principles of Federal Character as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution.

The Chairman, ADF Media and Publicity Bureau, Abia Onyike, disclosed this to Journalists in Abakaliki on Sunday, adding that the petition was signed by ADF President, Prof. Uzodinma Nwala and dated 15th February, 2021.
