Nnamdi Kanu must not die in custody – Fani-Kayode warns Buhari

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has issued a note of caution to the Nigerian government over the rearrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Fani-Kayode known to be a close ally of Kanu said the IPOB leader must not die in custody.

In a tweet, the former minister urged the Federal Government to ensure that Kanu was treated with decency and respect while in custody.

The Nigerian government had arrested Kanu and repatriated him to Nigeria to continue his trial.

The Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, disclosed that Kanu was arrested on Sunday.

Malami had said the IPOB leader was re-arrested through a combined operation of Nigerian and foreign security agents.
